Dimensional Solutions, Inc. =============================== Product: Shaft3D Language: English =============================== _________________________________________________________________________________ VERSION 5.5.0 - RELEASE NOTES _________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Added ACI 318 2014 Concrete design code _________________________________________________________________________________ VERSION 5.0.1 - RELEASE NOTES _________________________________________________________________________________ 1. The tie bar spacing is now calculated correctly. Under certain conditions the tie bar spacing was not calculated correctly in version 5.0.0 if the applied load was greater than one-half the concrete shear capacity. 2. The tie bar parameters are now calculated assuming that two legs of each tie contribute in resisting the applied lateral load. 3. In an Excel report generated in Excel 2010, the shaft design sketch displayed at the end of the report was linked instead of being embedded into the report due to changes made in Excel 2010. This release fixes this issue. 4. Shaft design is now possible using ACI 318 2011. Version 5.0.0 did not activate ACI 318 2011 for shaft design. _______________________________________________________________________________ RELEASE NOTES - VERSION 5.0.0 - December 2012 _________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Concrete design code ACI 318 2011 added 2. Addition and deletion of multiple load cases at a time added 3. Addition and deletion of multiple load combinations at a time added 4. Option to consider gross bearing added 5. Weight of shaft added to unfactored and factored load combinations in axial capacity analysis when gross bearing selected 6. Actual surface area of bell used in determining skin friction, pull out capacity and other parameters for shafts with bell 7. Shaft weight displayed on Load Cases dialog 8. The resultant of moments along each orthogonal direction at the same node depth along the length of the shaft is now used in determining the maximum moment for a given load combination instead of the resultant of max moments along each direction regardless of the node depth where the max moment occurs 9. Resisting moment displayed on Axial Capacity dialog now includes the weight of the shaft and the soil 10. Factor of safety against lateral stability removed from the dialog and the reports since it was not used 11. When the soil profile is longer than the shaft length, the end bearing capacity now automatically updates on the soil profile dialog when FHWA method is selected 12. End bearing capacity is now calculated correctly when FHWA method is selected for a clay type soil 13. Changes made to location of default save folders as well as location of installation files to allow smooth installation and operation of the application on Windows 7 14. Changes made to Excel and HTML reports
